Hollywood has done a lot of disaster movies, but the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan are not fiction and the entertainment industry has responded to the terrible situation with generosity.
Bullock became the latest to join the cause when the American Red Cross said on Thursday it had given $ 1 million to help disaster victims in Japan.

Several more famous and Hollywood studios have also pledged aid to the country.

Charlie Sheen, the bad boy of Hollywood, will donate one dollar for each entry in their live shows coming to the Red Cross.

Pop star Lady Gaga designed a bracelet to help Japan and in 48 hours raised $ 250,000, and sales are ongoing.

Singer Katy Perry is donating the sales of stickers on his concert tour to Japan Red Cross.

This week, Walt Disney donated $ 2.5 million to the American Red Cross relief efforts in Japan, and also said it would match employee donations up to a total of $ 1 million.
