In a show of nostalgia, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys perform together at the 38th Annual American Music Awards, to be held on 21 November at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, announced that the groups have a joint action as never before had done and as a preamble to its previously announced summer tour conducted in 2011.
Before the event organizers recognize the best of American music this year confirmed performances by Rihanna, Diddy, Dirty Money, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Kehä, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, P! nk and Usher.
"The meeting on the stage of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys will be something special. Moments like these are like the ones we need in these awards," said event producer Larry Klein.
The group New Kids on the Block, was the highest paid in the world in 1990, beating Michael Jackson and Madonna, have sold over 80 million albums worldwide with hits number one in 1988 Hangin 'Tough and Step by 1990 step.
Also with You got it (The Right Stuff), Cover Girl, Did not I (Blow Your Mind This Time), Hangin 'tough, and I'll be loving you Tonight.
For its part, in its 17 year history, Backstreet Boys have sold over 100 million copies worldwide thanks to its themes of pop harmonies and quirky.
This band whose latest CD is titled This is us is among the few to receive a Diamond Record certified by the RIAA for sales of more than 10 million copies of their albums Backstreet Boys and Millennium.
