The teen idol Justin Bieber, the resurrected rapper Eminem and singer Lady Gaga are among the nominees for entertainer of the year of the American Music Awards, delivered on Sunday night (from 0200 GMT Monday) at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
The other nominees for the trophy are Katy Perry and Ke $ ha.
Eminem wants to make awards in five categories, like the country music trio Lady Antebellum. Both had two of the biggest hits of the Year: Eminem "The Way You Love Lie''with the participation of Rihanna, and Lady Antebellum with" Need You Now.''
For Lady Antebellum, 2010 has been a spectacular year. Their album, also titled "Need You Now''not only solidified their status as stars of the country, but also generated attention in the pop world, where the title song reached number two.
In the case of Eminem, the year brought him back to the foreground. While the popular and critically acclaimed rapper has always produced albums sellers, a problem with drug addiction, a departure from the stage and a mediocre album in 2009 it took the rap throne. With "Recovery,''by far the best selling album of the year with nearly three million, its supremacy has been restored.
The awards ceremony for the American Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on ABC from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated singers and most popular musical groups in the country, determined by fan voting.
Other nominees are BoB, the Black Eyed Peas, Drake, the music television show "Glee,''Sade and country pop star Taylor Swift.
Swift will be among those scheduled to perform at the ceremony, as well as Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Bieber, Ke $ ha, Perry and Bon Jovi.
